Festival of the Girl

Proud partner of Festival of the Girl. Challenging the gender stereotypes that limit girls' potential, inspiring a new generation of designers to shape a more diverse and inclusive industry.

INSPIRE CHANGE

Gender stereotypes start shaping aspirations early, limiting opportunities for girls in design and technology. We want to challenge these limitations by starting the conversation with primary school-aged children and their families, to help shape a more inclusive future.

A rise in grassroots and self-organised initiatives, such as Festival of the Girl, has contributed to an increase in the proportion of female industrial designers, growing from 5% to 12% between 2016 and 2020. Despite this progress - there is still a long way to go.

As exhibitors, our stand focuses on two key areas: first, an educational space exploring industrial design, its impact on daily life and the design process; the second, a creative activity encouraging girls to step into the role of designer by sketching their own solutions to unique design briefs.

Each year, our designers bring the stand to life, sharing their knowledge and experience, introducing girls to the field of industrial design; Fostering curiosity and inspiring the next generation of problem solvers through direct engagement.

FESTIVAL OF THE GIRL AWARDS

We see within society, stereotypes and female rivalry still reinforced, the Festival of the Girl Awards create a platform for girls to celebrate each other’s successes and embrace the power of collaboration. As award sponsors, V2 Studios designed and produced bespoke trophies.

Created to reflect the values central to Festival of the Girl, the trophy design is a celebration of every girl’s potential to shape her own future. From one core shape, three distinct designs emerge: the 'Inspiring Girl' flame symbolizes courage and passion, the 'Leader and Changemaker' arrow represents direction and impact, and the 'Loyalty and Friendship' rings celebrate unity and support.
