Rebooting an Icon in a Connected World

Over 40 million Furbies were sold during the three years of its original production in the late 1990s. V2 was tasked with following up this phenomenal success with a reboot of the original toy. The world is a very different place now both technologically and culturally and for a new Furby to succeed we needed to embrace those changes. Furby became much less about aesthetic updates and more about the discovery on an immersive, connected and compelling play cycle.

Furby becomes a link and interface to the digital world with an AI personality that would evolve and change based on the type of interaction it had with its owner. A link to child safe digital content including audio, video, games and its own app.
